Rules & Regulations

  • Films must be completed on or after 1st January 2011.
  • Films previously submitted to The Global Film Festival are NOT eligible.
  • Films must be submitted on Data DVD (NTSC / PAL). Do not send film prints, master tapes, or other originals. The production’s title must be on each case and DVD.
  • Entrant must confirm the required legal authority to submit the entry into the Festival. Legal permission to use all music, images, and content in the entry must be attained by the entrant.
  • Entrant will allow usage of clips from the film for promotional use on television, radio, in print, and at live Festival events.
  • All entries must be either in English or contain English subtitles. Non-English entries submitted without subtitles are not eligible.
  • Only complete entries (including entry form, NOC, and preview DVD screener) will be processed.
  • Please submit a typed or clearly printed entry form or a copy of the online form receipt along with the submission. The Global Film Festival is not responsible for incorrect wording in publications or on awards if the entry form is incorrect or illegible.
  • Students must include proof of student status at the time of production (i.e., copy of student ID, transcript, etc.).
  • Works in progress are NOT eligible
  • Entrants must agree that if their film / films win the Best Film or Best Director awards, all screenings and publicity thereafter, will acknowledge the Award(s) on the film itself.
  • Entries will be subject to preview by a selection committee constituted by the organizing committee of Global Film Festival. A film which is not accepted for the competition section may be shown in the non competitive section with the consent of the entrant.
  • The decisions of the jury will be taken by a simple majority of the members present and voting. The jury can evolve its own rules for assessment of the entries. The Director of the Festival can attend the deliberations of the jury but shall neither participate nor vote.
  • No person in any way connected with the production or commercial exploitation of a competitive entry will be a member of the jury.
  • All the rights to screen part/s of the films have to be in the favour of the Global Film Festival and we may broadcast the films on Indian television /internet only for promotional purpose. The film would in no context be used for commercial purposes by us.
  • The submitted copy of the film would be treated as the Film Festival’s property and it would not be returned back to the entrants.
  • Each Entry must be accompanied by :-
    • Synopsis
    • Two Stills from the film
    • Photograph of the Director of the Film
    • 100 word Bio-filmography of the Director
    • Consent of the Institute/Rights holder of the film.
    • Poster of the Film .
