Encouraged by a writer, poet, journalist father, Krishan Kant Wadhwa’s childhood hobby of photography transformed into profession. His journey in this field started with a 3 years training from premium Film Institute FTII, Pune 1971-74. Over a span of 40 years, his experience ranged from feature films, TV serials, documentaries, advertisement films, News& Current affairs. He had the privilege of working with film & television personalities like SohrabModi, Mehmood, Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Naseerudin Shah, Sharmila Tagore, SmitaPatil, Ompuri, PankajKapur, JaspalBhatti and GirishKarnad to name a few. As a freelance cameraman has worked for international channels like Canadian TV, Australian TV & BBC. For Indian television he covered several important events of News & Current affairs with VVIP’s like Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, AtalBehari Vajpayee. He was awarded ‘Best Cinematography of the Year’ award for internationally acclaimed feature film “BhavniBhavai”, directed by Ketan Mehta. Even during busy shooting schedules his passion for teaching kept him associated as Guest faculty, consultant, member of the jury with institutions like National Institute of Design, Gujarat University, CEC-UGC, Zee Institute of Media Arts, Mumbai, Technical Teachers Training Institute, Bhopal and JIMS, New Delhi. He was a master trainer for Doordarshanprogramme staff and camerapersons at Space Applications Centre (ISRO), Ahmedabad.
