Noida: The International Chamber of Media & Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), in association with the Rotary E Club of Winter Haven, Florida, USA, observed Hiroshima Day with a solemn message of peace, remembrance and global unity. The programme commemorated the victims of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and reflected on the devastating consequences of war, while reaffirming the collective responsibility of humanity to work towards a peaceful and harmonious world.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of ICMEI, said, “Hiroshima Day is a reminder that peace is not merely an aspiration but a responsibility shared by every individual and every nation. The tragedy of Hiroshima must continue to inspire us to reject violence, promote dialogue and build a world based on love, peace and unity.”
Dr. Marwah further emphasised that art, culture, media and education can play a powerful role in creating bridges between nations and promoting understanding among people. “The best tribute to the victims of Hiroshima is to ensure that such devastation is never repeated. We must educate the younger generation about the value of peace and encourage them to become ambassadors of humanity,” he added.
Representatives of the Rotary E Club of Winter Haven, Florida, USA, joined ICMEI in expressing solidarity with the global peace movement and highlighted the importance of international cooperation, compassion and mutual understanding. The programme concluded with a collective call for Love, Peace and Unity Through Art and Culture, reinforcing the shared commitment of ICMEI and Rotary towards creating a more peaceful and harmonious world.
